Youth ministry at the AEUNA is called the Armenian Evangelical Youth Fellowship (AEYF). Its foremost goal is to spread the good news about Jesus Christ and to provide a setting where youth from the different evangelical churches can learn and grow in their knowledge of faith and fellowship together. Today AEYF has two subdivisions; the Eastern Region and the Western Region. The two regions fellowship with each other at the AEUNA Conventions. Each consists of a paid director and an executive committee who plans and organizes the yearly events.
The Armenian Evangelical Youth Fellowship of the Western Region currently offers a one-day seminar in the spring dealing with the topic of leadership for junior high, high school, and college leaders. A fall retreat is organized for college students. For every non-convention year, a sports weekend is organized wherein different churches compete with one another. In May 2005, a total of 150 youth participated from the Union churches in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Fresno. A new addition to the yearly calendar has been the outreach to churches that presently do not have youth leaders or are isolated from the fellowship of other evangelical churches for various reasons. This is where the AEYF Committee has decided to step in and become the branch to bring the youth in those churches to camps and several other AEUNA activities.
Clearly God is working through AEYF in the lives of many youth in our churches. We thank God for giving us the privilege to serve him in this capacity. It is an incredible ministry that is often underestimated. To reach its full potential we need your help and prayers. There is a great need for your support! May God continue to bless the youth in your churches and may they grow to love Him more and serve Him in the AEUNA! Amen.
